30

It In a few months I will be turning 30, and while I hear so many people dread it, I am actually looking forward to it. I feel like this is my time for all my dreams to come true. I got pregnant at 21, graduated college at 23, started my career at 24, got married at 26, had my second daughter at 27 and now at 29 I am more focused on finding self. I love my family and feel as though my 20s were just a dress rehearsal and now it's time to find my passion.

You already know I took a sewing class, and yes I do make my stuff when I have time. But everytime someone says... Girl make me one!?! I get freaked out!! Like really!?! I was playing. Yes, I took a class but I learned how to sew for me. I even thought I wanted a clothing line but got scared.

I follow this amazing group of ladies called "Pretty Girls Sew" when I tell you they are doing their thing. They must be mini Beyonces because they must have additional hours in their day that I still can't find.

In June of 2015 they are hosting their Sewcial and I thought it was a cute idea. A couple days in Austin with likeminded individuals. Then they announced "Seams and Sashay Fashion Show" and when I read the requirements, I automatically shot myself down. Then I thought about it. I am capable. I have to come up with four looks which I have already chosen. I sent in my inquiry email and I am waiting to hear back.

I will keep everyone posted.

Talk to you later

My Sewtuary!

My sewing room is amazing. I don't think I could have design a better sewing room for myself. It's femine, efficient and most of all it's.. PINK! Pink is my ultimate favorite color and I think when I die want to buried in an pink coffin (extreme but yeah it's me)

I made my craft table myself using two book cases from Walmart and a table top from Ikea. Pre measuring truly matters, as my first table top was to small so I had to take an extra trip to ikea :-)

My desk also came from ikea and my husband put it together for me. The dressform was a gift from my sister in law and I adorned it with a beautiful Chanel sewing charm bracelet. My first machine ever and my serger are gifts from a few of biggest supporters--my mom and god mother.

My ironing board went so well with my area rug you would think I made it. But it was a lucky find at Ross.

Last but not leats my "Jada Olivia" sign. Jada Olivia is my daughters names and the name of my future clothing line (God is working on the perfect timing) I made this sign huge because one day this name will be plastered everywhere.

Since I get so nervous while sewing, I created such an oasis that is kind of calming and perfectly me!

Tell me about your sewing oasis.. Do you use your dining room table as a cutting table or your actual sewing center. How do you create your sewing mood. I would love to hear from you.

Blogging

I don't think I ever took into consideration the amount of time it takes to maintain a blog.  I guess being a mom, wife and having a full time career (that I love) I didn't think I wouldn't have so much time for anything else that I love.

There are multiple blogs that I follow, and when there is a new post I get all excited and gitty inside (lame, I know :)), But that's how I want my readers to feel.  I want to be able to relate to my readers. I want to inspire my readers to do better, go farther and reach new heights. I'm not a professional seamstress with her own line who can sew anything with her eyes closed. I'm learning... I took classes and now its time to put it work. I have made several pieces that I will never wear but that's life. We try...we fail and what matters the most is that we try again. Like I tell me daughter practice makes perfect.....

So let's practice! I will work on my sewing and maintaining my blog and you can "practice" reading it on a regular basis lol. I will have giveaways and even take topics from my readers. If your a beginner this may just be the blog for you.
