Ready... Set.. SEW!!!!!

So  I decided to take a sewing class... Nothing spur of the moment since I have always been crafty, but I was battling a mild case of depression and was using retail therapy to combat it. So in order to channel my emotions I decided to pick a trade/craft and sewing was it.

I researched the different courses in my area like Joann's,  a small private school and the local community college and based on price and what seems to be more bang for my buck I chose the local community college.

Background Information- I always rely on people to enable my goals. So if there is something I really want to do to and I can't find anyone to do it with I tend to miss out.  So one day I clicked "Pay for Class" and I must say it brightened my entire week. PS- I signed up by myself..

So I received my supply list and it was a bit overwhelming. I had no clue what most stuff was and all I had was a sewing machine (bought months in advance during a retail therapy session.) I went to Joann's and the lady was very helpful, she guided me through some things and I also googled it to see what they would look like.

Disclaimer: Joanns does not have everything and since I googled it I was able to find the rest of the stuff at www.goldstartool.com in LA. Both companies offer students 10% off their total purchase and since sewing stuff is a bit pricey, every little bit helps.

1. Sewing machine
2. Sewing Foots (used in conjunction with the machine)
3. Pin Cushion
4. Seam Ruler
5. Seam Ripper (My Best Friend)
6. Spring Action Scissor (discovered while researching my blog)
7. Spring Action pinking Shears
8. Hand Sewing Needles
9. Water Soluble Marker
10. Pins
11. Iron
12. Gridded Cutting Mat
13. Rotary Cutter
14. Spring Action Snips
15. Serger (I got one as a gift from my goddie :))

Buyer Beware: The fabric store is addictive. There are so many pretty prints and fabrics, that I buy so much and I haven't even learned to sew so its adding up.

Anyways... I will keep you updated on my sewing journey. Please comment and if there is something you want to know just ask and I will get back to you. Thanks for reading.
